Aydin Hamami (American, b. 1988) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. A first-generation Turkish American raised on the East Coast of the US, Hamami's multicultural upbringing has come to be instrumental in his studio practice, with issues of heritage and identity merging with themes of memory, loss, and alienation. His most recent works discuss the nature of the handmade in art and the intersection of the bodily and the phenomenological through the language of abstract painting, assemblage, and process-based art. His work has been shown throughout the US and is held in private collections in the US and Europe.
